Obamacare has been a complete and utter disaster. Even Bill Clinton admitted it.

We need to wake up to the fact that this was purposely shoved down the throats of the American people and was known from the get-go as a temporary fix.

Now the government is poised to have to bail out insurers. And those forced to be insured – or else face a tax (not a penalty or fee as they call it) – are seeing their rates spike.

The architects of Obamacare knew that by not being transparent they were able to dupe citizens into buying garbage. This legislation has been a failure from the start. It’s been six years since its signing and the American people are suffering.

That’s government for you.

Under Obamacare, we’re all forced to either obtain insurance directly through the government, or through a private insurance company that offers federally approved plans.

Besides being mandated to provide specific services and coverage plans, insurance companies selling through Obamacare must get their premiums approved by regulators.

Wait a second, this reminds me of something… Oh right. Socialism!

Single payer healthcare rarely works. In countries like Canada, which have embraced the single payer system, patients often need to wait years for critical surgeries like heart or kidney transplants.

When you make something — anything — subsidized, demand goes up and quality goes down. It’s simple economics.

The problems are even evident inside doctors’ officers. Many health care professionals complain that the one size fits all nature of Obamacare will additionally jeopardize the doctor-patient relationship.

What incentive do doctors have to nurture professional relationships with their patients, when, under the new system, they get paid for quantity, not quality?

They’re better off scheduling as many patients in a day as possible, even if that won’t allow them to give adequate time to care for each person.

The result could easily be sloppy and rushed medical work. How is that supposed to make us all healthier?

President Trump has already said he’s going to keep some parts of Obamacare. But the heart of the legislation must be repealed immediately.

Trump’s cabinet choice for Health and Human Services Secretary has been a staunch opponent of Obamacare. We hope that the legislation gets gutted and gives way to a smarter free market solution.

That’s how we’re going to see lower cost, higher quality healthcare in this country.
