Another thing that’s important is your signature. Make your emails come from an actual person! Go ahead and make this person up if you’re not comfortable being the face of your brand. If you’re taking this route, make sure the avatar you choose for this makes sense for your target customer.
Also, make it even more personal by adding a photo of this person (or you) with the signature at the bottom. Make sure all email campaigns come from this person, and customers will begin to know, like and trust you as a brand.

Utilizing a specific template also makes it easier to track performance metrics. Feel free to personalize a template already available through your email marketing system. There are usually plenty available that will work for your brand. If you’re super creative, don’t be afraid to design your own.
Add Photos and Videos
Images and videos are great ways to make your emails stand out. They draw people’s attention more than plain text alone. Including graphics related to your message can also increase engagement rates.
Make sure to optimize the size of your photos to ensure that they are loading quickly on various devices. I usually recommend a width of no more than 600px to ensure your photos load. Feel free to play around with the length of your photos, but try to keep the file size less than 1MB.
Some of your subscribers may have images disabled, so make sure to include enticing Alt text. This may get them to open your images, which is the experience you ultimately want.
Add Calls To Action
Every email should include a call to action (CTA) to entice subscribers to click. You can use CTAs such as “Sign Up Now”, “Learn More”, or “Get the Deal”. Avoid being pushy, and keep it simple.
Make sure that the CTA matches the overall tone of the message, and don’t include too many. In most cases, all your email needs is one link within the text and another on a button. Don’t overwhelm your audience!
One last thought on engagement is to ask your readers to reply back to you. This is a great way to help you land in their inbox. It also allows you to further engage with your audience on a more personal level.
